The Role

Product Management Consultant

Product Development Management is a fast-paced environment where innovative thinking is prized. Our team focuses on the delivery of products or computer-based systems for external customers. We lead and deliver the entire lifecycle from product definition and planning through to production and release. We also oversee modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. And to make the whole process run smoothly and seamlessly, we’re experts in project management, from initiation through to delivery, and liaise with other departments on technical matters.

What you’ll achieve

As a Product Management Consultant, you will identify new growth areas, technologies, and emerging product/service opportunities. You will conduct in-depth market analysis to optimize existing products/solutions and launch & sustain next generation products partnering closely with Engineering and Regional Marketing teams and align product strategies for the business.

You will: 

  • Identify key business opportunity investments needed through regional, customer and sales discussions and data analytic tools, throughout the product lifecycle to ensure we drive premium to market growth and stay market leaders. Work with product planning and launch to add any needed mid-life features as well as help to define successor products. Track global product RUM metrics, business commit attainment and market share and drive demand strategy actions with regional teams where needed.  

  • Closely track the health of the product and portfolio (quality, support, online/offline offers, commodity attach, business attainment, etc.) and drive the right direction with the respective responsible functions

  • Drive go-to-market activities with messaging and regional marketing teams to drive pipeline growth and maturity 

  • Manage cost and competitive positioning for product segment, update product plan based on market changes and technology availability

  • Drive a clean product transition (previous gen to current gen) and end of life planning. Ensure product is retired with minimal excess inventory or margin erosion as new replacement products launch while maintaining appropriate transition timelines

Essential Requirements

  • Preferred MBA degree or other master business degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or bachelors in Engineering with 8+ years of experience in program management/product marketing/management

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment requiring daily decision making

  • Strategic analysis, business modeling and business case development skills

  • Attention to detail balanced with high level process overview/improvements

  • Ability to work with functional teams including engineering, procurement, customer experience, quality, operations, finance, sales, and marketing (AR, PR, web, advertising, promotions)
