The Opportunity

The New Product Management Actuary aids the Product and Pricing Team through support of new product development and implementation of Registered Index-Linked Annuities (RILAs), Fixed Indexed Annuities (FIAs), and Fixed Deferred Annuities. As New Product Management Actuary you will build strong relationships and collaborate with IT, Operations, Legal, Sales and Marketing. Responsibilities may include managing a direct report. This position has the ability to be either hybrid out of our downtown Cincinnati office, or 100% remote wherever you may reside in the US.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as Product Management key contact for IT, Operations, and Sales and Marketing
  • Lead the Design Team for the RILA product line, overseeing product updates from ideation to implementation
  • Serve as a member of MassMutual Ascend’s Product Steering Committee
  • Create/update product specifications used by the product implementation team
  • Maintain, update, and enhance LifePRO policy administration testing spreadsheet: add new products and support User Acceptance Testing
  • Research and investigate administrative systems issues as needed
  • Provide actuarial support for Illustrations: add new products and test values
  • Assist Marketing with materials (create examples and review pieces) and training
  • Identify and implement continuous process improvement
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of insurance products, operations, and existing regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have obtained ASA
  • Current Member of American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) or attain designation shortly after hire
  • 5+ years of actuarial experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization and problem-solving abilities
  • Solid communication skills with emphasis on collaboration among departments including IT, Operations, Legal, Sales, and Marketing

  • Working knowledge of RILAs, FIAs and Fixed Deferred Annuities
