About the Role:
The Product Integrity Engineer/Analyst will support product compliance activities for global retail and promotional products. We are looking for a candidate that can execute engineering judgement and decision making under the supervision and leadership of the manager. Knowledge of consumer products regulatory requirements for multiple countries is a plus.
What You Will Do:
Product Development Support:
• Perform design safety reviews for assigned category products and documents as required
• Perform compliance product review for all assigned categories and business units including but not limited to promotional products
• Review Product packaging and labeling for language content/safety and regulatory issues
• Provide disposition of testing reports and communicate same to affected parties clearly and in a timely manner
• Communicate with testing laboratories and suppliers to ensure clarity of test requirements and appropriate testing is performed
• Track incident data trends in product concerns
• Resolve product issues with Vendors
• Clearly communicate any non-compliance issues and safety-related design considerations to all relevant teams to ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Provide vendor training on Product Integrity processes, regulations and design requirements
Business Partnerships:
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with assigned Disney Business Segment partners worldwide, to ensure safe products are delivered within cost and on time
• Oversee Marketplace business models and provide compliance information as requested
• Act as a technical resource and safety consultant to Business Segment partners including Disney Sourcing, Brand Merchandising, Central Creative, and suppliers regarding appropriate statutory, regulatory, and Disney product safety requirements for specific types of merchandise
• Work with internal Guest Relations team to investigate and resolve product concerns for product within assigned categories
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or Technology. (Mechanical, Electrical, Textiles, Physics, Microbiology, Chemical, Manufacturing, Materials, Industrial, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
- Successful candidates will have 3 or more years of consumer product compliance experience or equivalent work experience.
- Should have recent experience working in a consumer products company with a variety of consumer product categories distributed into multiple global regions and can speak to the requirements in each country/region including packaging and labeling
- Critical thinking skills and ability to showcase those skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent presentation and group dynamics skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Proficient with Power Point, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Technical knowledge of international consumer product rules and regulations
- Technical knowledge of basic manufacturing processes and how various product types are made
- Salesforce platform experience is helpful
- Ability to learn and develop skills for diversified product categories
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3 or more years relevant experience in consumer products compliance preferred
The hiring range for this position in California is $79,400.00 - $106,400.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job Posting Segment:
