ROLE SUMMARY
Being a dedicated engineer for Flowserve BU Engineering team located in GTEC Laguna.
The Engineer is responsible for accelerating the development and implementation of new leading-edge product technology throughout the pump product portfolio to provide a competitive advantage to the corporation.
This position will coordinate closely with the Engineering teams of the business unit to prioritize the work with the business objectives and strategic initiatives of the operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure uniform design specifications, tolerances, and documentation across product lines.
Create and maintain accurate 3D models and technical drawings for components and assemblies.
Apply engineering principles to resolve design inconsistencies and improve manufacturability.
Work with manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams to align standardization with production capabilities.
Verify adherence to industry standards (ISO, ASME) and internal guidelines during updates.
Maintain accurate Bills of Materials and ensure data integrity in PLM/PDM systems.
Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and enhance reliability in standardized designs.
Provide engineering support for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to standardization and rationalization projects
Drive standardization of products and technical content.
Prepare technical documentation and reports of appropriate depth and detail to document design operational requirements, product design development.
Collaborate with BU’s and GTEC Engineers to improve the Customer Satisfaction and Employee Engagement.
Have strong collaboration with project team
Lead standardization projects for specific pump families (e.g., centrifugal, diaphragm)
Optimize CAD workflows for pump assemblies and introduce modeling best practices
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure standardized pump components availability
Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders on standardization progress
Support cost-reduction initiatives by identifying interchangeable parts and design simplifications
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s, preferably master’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related engineering discipline.
2-3 years of relevant experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Oil & Gas, project engineering, 3D design, hydraulic engineering, pressure vessels, instrumentation, and interpreting customer specifications.
Strong knowledge of metallurgical requirements, manufacturing processes.
Strong proficiency in engineering, design and ERP software (preferably SolidWorks, Windchill PLM, SAP, Oracle).
Solid understanding of pump and/or valve applications and types, in depth knowledge of hydraulic fundamentals and how these relate to systems.
Strong knowledge of internal and international practices and standards (ASME, API, DIN).
Use of Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) methodology (LEAN and Six Sigma preferred) and Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A).
Ability to focus on long-term goals and to identify and produce deliverables aligned with business objectives.
Work experience in multi-cultural teams is preferred.
