StampTech Fasteners TM Division Description:
The ITW StampTech Fastener Division serves the major OEMs and Tier suppliers in the North American automotive market. The division supplies stamped metal fasteners and engineered fastener assemblies that leverage our deep-draw stamping technologies. The annual revenue for the division is approximately $160M. Locations include Gallatin, TN, Lexington, KY & Naugatuck, CT.
The Division drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions and application engineering. Job Description
The Product Engineer will reside at the manufacturing plant and will report to the Engineering Manager. The position will be responsible for new product development. The position will involve direction communication with the Application engineering team to create the best solution for the opportunity by applying knowledge of engineering principles to develop, design, and validate product. This role requires product development expertise, design capabilities utilizing software, understanding of data analysis tools, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects working with several stakeholders. At times, this individual may be required to directly interface with the customer to support the application team and/or a specific project.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
- Responsible for understanding the customer's requirements to design, develop, and validate a solution using engineering methods (such as FEA, DOE, etc) to meet or exceed customer's performance requirements.
- Will collaborate with outside vendors that include prototype, heat treatment, surface treatment, sorting, stamping, etc during the part development process.
- Creates the manufacturing proposal and component costing using the divisional cost worksheet.
- Lead the project through the P1 and P2 phases of the APQP process.
- Support part proliferation activities to ensure a successful new business kickoff (ex: PDC, MDR, ECN).
- Generate and/or make changes to CAD drawings for new and existing products.
- Represent the product engineering team at technical sales visits, trade shows, and conferences.
- Provide technical training opportunities to us in internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Support customer launch and post launch improvement activities to reinforce the trusted advisor trait.
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience or area of study.
- Looking for 3-5 years of Product Engineering Experience.
- Stamping/metal forming and/or automotive experience preferred.
- Proficient CAD software experience: SolidWorks preferred.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office software products.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001; IATF 16949 preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with ability and willingness to communicate, and work with other regions.
- Approximately 10% travel; primarily domestic and occasionally world-wide.
