Headquartered in Livonia, MI, we have more than 20 office and manufacturing operations across 11 states. Our Marketing and Creative Services teams support many of our brands, including KraftMaid, Merillat, Medallion, and Schuler.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Complete tasks supporting the development of cabinetry products. Leadership role in the implementation of projects originating from the New Product Development pipeline, Value Management, or Cabinetworks Group Operating System. Support other engineering projects as required.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze and provide recommendations for improvements related to quality and manufacturing opportunities.
• Lead the development of new cabinetry products, including plant process development.
• Serve as project manager for basic to moderately complex projects by coordinating with plant management and the shop floor. Develop and manage project timelines and coordinate team meetings.
• Conduct or ensure proper product testing is approved prior to implementing changes.
• Ensure drawing and product specification revisions are completed using change management system and processes.
• Lead the identification and implementation of cost optimization projects.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to achieve plant goals and objectives in accordance with the Cabinetworks Group Operating System (COS).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Demonstrated experience leading initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD and/or 3D CAD software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent project management skills including leading cross-functional teams.
• Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence, and initiative without daily interaction with management.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• CNC programming knowledge and/or experience.
• Experience in Woodworking or the Furniture Industry.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sitting for Extended Periods: The nature of the job involves sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods while performing administrative tasks, using a computer, and engaging in various in-office activities.
• Computer Use: Proficient use of a computer, including typing, mouse manipulation, and viewing a computer screen for extended periods is essential.
• Manual Dexterity: Ability to use office equipment such as phones, photocopiers, fax machines, and printers. This may require fine motor skills and dexterity.
• Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting and carrying of office supplies, documents, and other materials, typically not exceeding a certain weight limit (e.g., 20 pounds).
• Mobility: Ability to move within the office environment to access filing cabinets, printers, and other office equipment.
• Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders directly in person or via electronic communication.
• Visual Acuity: Ability to read printed and electronic documents, as well as distinguish colors, for tasks such as proofreading and reviewing documents.
• Multitasking: The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work effectively, which may require mental agility and adaptability.
