Job Summary

We are looking for a Rust Developer with 1–3 years of experience to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of high-performance, reliable, and scalable backend services. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Rust programming and a good understanding of asynchronous programming, APIs, databases, messaging systems, and software development practices. The candidate will work closely with senior developers and other engineering teams to develop, test, optimize, and support production applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Rust.

  • Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and idiomatic Rust code.

  • Work with async/await, Tokio, and concurrent programming.

  • Develop and integrate REST APIs and backend services.

  • Work with SQL databases and understand basic query optimization, transactions, and indexing.

  • Work with Redis and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ/Kafka.

  • Participate in development of distributed and event-driven applications.

  • Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.

  • Troubleshoot application issues and assist with root-cause analysis.

  • Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/cloud environments.

  • Implement logging, monitoring, and error handling.

  • Collaborate with senior developers, QA, DevOps, and product teams.

  • Continuously learn and adopt best practices in Rust and backend development.

Technical Skills Required

Must Have:

  • 1–3 years of professional software development experience, with hands-on experience in Rust.

  • Good understanding of Rust fundamentals including:

    • Ownership and borrowing

    • Lifetimes

    • Structs and enums

    • Traits and generics

    • Result and Option

    • Error handling

    • Iterators and closures

  • Basic to good understanding of async/await and Tokio.

  • Understanding of multithreading and concurrency concepts.

  • Experience developing REST APIs or backend services.

  • Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.

  • Understanding of database transactions and connection pooling.

  • Exposure to Redis and RabbitMQ/Kafka or similar technologies.

  • Familiarity with Git, Docker, and Linux.

  • Basic understanding of cloud environments, preferably AWS.

  • Understanding of unit testing, debugging, and code review practices.

Good to Have

  • Experience with .NET/C# or another backend programming language.

  • Exposure to Kubernetes.

  • Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture.

  • Experience with performance optimization and profiling.

  • Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar monitoring tools.

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.

  • Knowledge of C/C++ or system-level programming.

  • Experience working with high-volume data processing applications.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a 1–3 year experienced Rust developer with strong fundamentals and a willingness to learn and grow into a backend/system-level engineering role. We are particularly interested in candidates who understand Rust ownership and concurrency, async programming, APIs, databases, messaging systems, and performance-oriented development, rather than candidates who only have basic Rust syntax knowledge.
