The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

This role will be based in Celtic Lakes. Our new 237,000-square-foot Newport facility provides additional production and customer collaboration spaces, including 25,000 square feet of R&D clean rooms, 35,000 square feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing space and tool demo areas, all designed to support development of semiconductor process technologies across advanced packaging, power devices, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), radio frequency (RF) and photonics sector technology!

The NPI reports through the KLA Service Organisation (KLAS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA. KLAS is our service organisation that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. Primary Responsibility

As a Product Engineer (Sustaining & NPI), you will support a portfolio of surface and mechanical metrology systems, including Nano-indentation, Stylus Profilers, and Optical Profilers!

This role focuses on improving service infrastructure, supporting incremental product changes, and improving field execution across an established install base. You will act as the Voice of Service, ensuring service strategies, tools, and processes scale optimally with evolving customer and product needs. See specific responsibilities below:

Responsibilities:

Service Infrastructure & Strategy

  • Drive consistency and scalability of service models across shared platforms
  • Improve service workflows, tooling, calibration processes, and parts strategies

Incremental Product Support

  • Partner with engineering on product updates (hardware, software, features)
  • Assess and implement impacts to serviceability, training, and spare parts

Product Support Plan (PSP)

  • Maintain and evolve PSPs using field data to refine cost, reliability, and PM strategies
  • Find opportunities for cross-product standardisation and simplification

Field & Customer Support

  • Support escalations and identify systemic issues across the install base
  • Translate field feedback into engineering improvements and service solutions

Training & Knowledge Scaling

  • Develop scalable training and documentation focused on shared infrastructure
  • Lead BKMs, troubleshooting flows, and knowledge systems

Install & Continuous Improvement

  • Support targeted installs and upgrades to validate and improve service processes
  • Drive continuous improvement through best practices and cross-team teamwork

Travel

  • Domestic and international travel required (<25%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Experience with demonstrable experience across multiple subject areas
  • High-Tech Capital Equipment experience in KLA Instruments or similar Semiconductor industry
  • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing control systems (ERP, PLM, etc.) and customer management systems (CRM).
  • Comfortable with data analysis to research a problem and determine what data are required to answer specific questions and problems
  • MS Project and Visio experience
