POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Engineer III is a problem-solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, resource, designer and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Champion Lozier’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values by demonstrating the behaviors that contribute to Lozier’s success.
  • Responsible for the successful completion projects which are broad in nature including defining project, setting goals, and communicating project to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work from sales requests, customer quote requests, Product Change Requests (PCR’s), New Item Releases (NIR’s) for cost reduction or functional enhancements.
  • Checks drawings developed and drawn by others in the form of PCR’s and NIR’s.
  • Assist manager in determining when samples may need to be fabricated to validate fit/function parameters and/or to send to customer for approval.
  • Generate necessary shop drawings and assists, guides and mentors support personnel in design-related matters.
  • Work with cross functional teams on cost estimating for quotes or to determine optimum design alternatives.
  • Responsible for establishing installation instructions and identify safety-related issues including misuse of product (to ensure appropriate warnings are included).
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • General industrial and manufacturing engineering functions as necessary.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor degree in engineering or another related field. Product design or engineering preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 4 year of applicable engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Good written and oral communications.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a proper sense of urgency.
  • Ability to make timely decisions.
  • Average to above average PC Skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of design software and project management software.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Some travel required.
