Cryodynamic Pump Product Engineer Focused on Rerates, Modifications, and New Unit Design
The Product Engineer position functions as the technical expert in regards to Elliott and Non-Elliott cryodynamic pump design of rerates, modifications and new units. In this position, the employee will carry out or direct any engineering tasks and analysis, verify proper application of the product or product components, and will perform any project assignments and testing that requires judgement in the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
This position will function primarily as a lead or support Product Engineer on projects of well-defined scope with moderate to high complexity while achieving equitable and satisfactory execution of contracts within project budgets and schedules. The position will also require technical communication with customers and suppliers as well as management of technical documentation requirements of projects.
A successful Product Engineer must be a mechanically minded, logical thinker who embraces the responsibility of making decisions and can handle multi-tasking.
What the Product Engineer will do for every assigned project:

Review of the mechanical hydraulic design of the pump or expander

Rotordynamics analysis
-
Mitigation of identified risks
-
Review and approval of all unit manufacturing drawings

Conduct internal design reviews
-
Support manufacturing and troubleshoot assembly and testing

Disposition assembly and test non-conformances
Additional tasks
-
Support the application engineering team on quotation questions
-
Review customer specifications and additions to API standards
-
Support Technical Services on field issues
-
Generate or revise engineering standard documents
-
Participate in Elliott’s corrective action process

Participate in continuous improvement activities
-
Lead or support special development project initiatives

Education Requirements:
-
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Preferably Mechanical).

Solid foundation in Statics, Dynamics, Mechanical, Thermodynamics

Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret drawings

Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications that can set you apart:

Experience working with turbomachinery

Previous machine design experience

Computer skills: Creo. Windchill, Ansys, Visual Basic

Demonstrated leadership ability

Good problem-solving skills.

Ability to travel, including international travel.
Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in design in a similar industry (willing to look at 0-10+ years' experience).

Willingness to travel to support projects.
