The Product Engineer will support MISUMI Structural product adoption through customer design communication, technical support for design software, and education on product specifications. Responsibilities include providing pricing, availability, and maintenance of internal documentation, collaborating on internal improvement projects, and offering hardware recommendations based on customer needs.

The Product Engineer will promote adoption of MISUMI Structural products through design communication with customers (email & phone), manufacturing coordination, and special engineering projects as needed.
 

Customer Support:
  • Provide product specifications, pricing, and availability to customers. Thoroughly answer technical questions related to installation and operation of structural components.
  • Give technical support for FRAMES design software including installation and design use. Capture customer feedback to identify improvements to the user experience.
  • Participate in internal and external technical design support and education for products including details on materials, surface finishes, fits, tolerances, and sizing via phone, email, and internal training.
  • Offer customers hardware and accessory recommendations based on their application.
  • Maintain internal SOPs, logs, databases, and additional team documentation as needed.
  • Promote structural products and educate customers such as design and mechanical engineers, buyers, or other professional and technical personnel on MISUMI product lines to increase sales.
  • Provide product and design support including cross-references to increase MISUMI usage in customer designs.

Team Support:

  • Contribute to large or complex internal improvement projects.
  • Present accurate data to management to assist with regular and special reporting; identify areas where improvement in efficiency or outcome are possible and contribute to solutions.

Other:

  • Other responsibilities may include manufacturing development, manufacturing kaizen, product development, or as needed by the organization.
  • Travel requirements – minimal

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automation or Industrial Engineering
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience with aluminum extrusion or related products.
  • Sizing and specifying Industrial Automation components; hands on experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPoint, Teams) and Tableau
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • High motivated, organized, responsible, possessing leadership skills and be results oriented.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, quality inspection tools.
