We are seeking a Product Director, Admin Portal to define the strategy, vision, and zero-to-one build of Candescent's next-generation administrative experience for financial institutions. This is a rare opportunity to shape a greenfield product on a solid technical foundation—an extensible, plugin-based control plane—while reimagining how administrators get work done. The mandate is bold: transform high-friction, click-heavy administrative workflows into intelligent, conversational, prompt-driven experiences powered by AI.

The Product Director owns the end-to-end product strategy, use-case prioritization, and roadmap for the Admin Portal, balancing platform extensibility, AI enablement, regulatory constraints, and customer outcomes. This role partners closely with engineering, design, data/AI, and platform teams to deliver a cohesive product that scales across diverse financial institution segments and operational personas. The leader will set the bar for what "AI-native admin" means at Candescent—where common tasks shift from navigating screens to stating intent—while ensuring trust, auditability, and compliance remain non-negotiable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set the 0→1 product vision for the Admin Portal, anchored on high-value administrative use cases (institution configuration, user and role management, feature enablement, observability, support workflows) and a clear thesis for AI-first interaction patterns.
  • Define and sequence the use-case roadmap, prioritizing where conversational, agentic, and prompt-driven flows replace manual clicks—and where deterministic UI remains the right answer.
  • Own the AI enablement strategy for the portal: intent capture, action grounding, guardrails, human-in-the-loop confirmation for sensitive operations, and measurable productivity outcomes for admin users.
  • Leverage the plugin-based platform architecture (Nx monorepo, Module Federation, BFF, shared framework) to drive a composable product strategy—accelerating delivery via reusable plugins while enabling tenant- and segment-specific extensions.
  • Drive alignment across engineering, design, data/AI, security, compliance, and GTM teams; manage dependencies on the underlying UI framework, BFF, and shared services.
  • Establish product success metrics (task completion time, prompt success rate, admin NPS, support ticket deflection, time-to-onboard) and instrument the portal to learn fast.
  • Represent the product externally with customers, prospects, and executives—translating market signals, regulatory shifts, and customer feedback into roadmap decisions.
  • Champion safe, compliant AI practices—data minimization, auditability, role-scoped actions, and clear escalation paths—aligned with Candescent's enterprise and regulatory posture.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in software, platform, or solution leadership roles, with fintech, banking, or complex regulated-industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, information systems, engineering, or business); advanced degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven track record of taking products from 0 to 1, including discovery, use-case framing, MVP scoping, and scaling to general availability.
  • Demonstrated experience leading AI-enabled or agentic product experiences—conversational UX, LLM-driven workflows, copilots, or natural-language interfaces—with a clear point of view on where AI adds value versus adds risk.
  • Strong understanding of modern cloud platforms, distributed systems, and extensible/plugin architectures (Module Federation, micro-frontends, BFF patterns, multi-tenant SaaS); able to engage credibly with engineering on tradeoffs.
  • Experience with admin, operator, or back-office tooling for B2B or B2B2C products is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to define strategy and priorities for complex, cross-functional initiatives in fast-moving technical environments.
  • Demonstrated fluency in AI safety, governance, and compliance considerations in regulated industries—data handling, auditability, access controls, and human oversight for sensitive actions.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders, customers, and external audiences.
  • High degree of curiosity and initiative, with a track record of staying current on AI, platform, and developer-experience trends that influence product capabilities and customer expectations.
