About the Role

We are seeking a Product Director – Business Payments to own the product vision, strategy, and delivery for our global cross-border business payments offerings.

This is a senior individual contributor role with one direct report, responsible for defining the roadmap, building core capabilities, and delivering high-impact solutions that enable seamless and scalable business payments. You will work closely with network, treasury, operations, and commercial teams, as well as external partners, to solve complex cross-border payment challenges for corporate clients.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, strong execution skills, and deep domain expertise in business payments.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and drive the global business payments product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company strategy and customer needs.
  • Identify, design, and prioritize capabilities for cross-border payment solutions, including direct payment rails, RTP schemes (SEPA, FPS, emerging markets), virtual accounts, and SWIFT integration.
  • Translate complex business and operational requirements into clear product initiatives and delivery plans.

Execution & Delivery

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept, requirements, and design to launch and continuous optimization.
  • Ensure products are scalable, secure, compliant, and operationally efficient.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, network, and compliance teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Use data-driven insights to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Capability Building

  • Build and enhance core business payments capabilities, including multi-currency accounts, cross-border corridors, and payment scheme integrations.
  • Ensure payment message formats and processes comply with global cross-border standards.
  • Identify gaps in capabilities and define paths to mitigate operational, commercial, or technical risks.

Stakeholder & Partner Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams (network, treasury, operations, commercial) to ensure alignment on product strategy and delivery.
  • Engage with banks, payment schemes, and SWIFT partners to enable product functionality and resolve operational issues.

Commercial Impact

  • Enable new business payment capabilities that support revenue growth and product expansion.
  • Work closely with network, treasury, and commercial teams to ensure the network supports evolving customer needs.
Professional Experience & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, preferably in business payments, cross-border payments, or banking technology.
  • Strong understanding of global payments infrastructure, including SEPA, FPS, SWIFT, and emerging RTP schemes.
  • Proven track record of defining and delivering product roadmaps and building cross-border payments capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical and data-driven approach.
  • Ability to own complex initiatives independently while collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
