About StarCompliance

StarCompliance is a market-leading provider of employee compliance technology, trusted by 350+ global financial institutions and highly regulated organisations to manage regulatory obligations, monitor employee activity, and mitigate risk. Backed by private equity, we are investing in the next generation of our cloud-native, AI-enabled SaaS platform — building a dedicated capability to deliver AI-powered products that create measurable value for customers and durable commercial advantage for the business.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Product Director, AI & Data Products to define, validate, and drive the roadmap for AI-first products across the StarCompliance platform. This is a highly strategic and execution-oriented role.

You will work hand-in-hand with the Head of Data & AI as the product counterpart to a dedicated technical leader, jointly shaping the future of AI at StarCompliance. Together, you will identify customer problems where AI can materially improve efficiency, effectiveness, decision quality, automation, insight generation, and risk detection.

The role spans both new product development and transformation of existing use cases. You will identify new AI-enabled products, SKUs, and commercial opportunities that StarCompliance does not currently support, while partnering with existing Product Managers to embed AI capabilities into their product areas.

This role reports to the Chief Product Officer.

Key Responsibilities

    AI Product Strategy & Roadmap

    • Own and evolve the product roadmap for AI and data-driven products, ensuring it is ambitious, commercially grounded, and aligned with company strategy.

    • Identify new AI-first product opportunities, including new products, modules, SKUs, and platform capabilities that expand StarCompliance’s value proposition.

    • Refine and validate product concepts that use AI at the core, including generative AI, predictive analytics, intelligent recommendations, semantic search, graph-based insights, workflow automation, and decision support.

    • Prioritise opportunities based on customer value, commercial potential, technical feasibility, regulatory sensitivity, and strategic fit, defining clear outcomes, success metrics, adoption targets, and value hypotheses.

    Customer, Market & Commercial Discovery

    • Interface directly with customers, prospects, partners, industry experts, and internal commercial teams to understand demand for AI-enabled compliance solutions.

    • Evaluate market readiness, willingness to pay, competitive positioning, packaging, and monetisation potential for new AI use cases.

    • Translate market insight into well-structured product requirements, commercial cases, and roadmap recommendations.

    • Develop a strong understanding of how regulated organisations adopt AI, including their governance, explainability, security, and risk management expectations.

    Product Delivery & Execution

    • Partner closely with the Head of Data & AI to move AI product concepts from discovery through delivery, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.

    • Work with engineering, data science, architecture, security, legal, compliance, customer success, sales, and marketing to deliver production-grade AI capabilities in a regulated B2B SaaS environment.

    • Ensure AI products are explainable, trustworthy, auditable, usable, and aligned with customer workflows — solving real customer problems rather than building technology showcases.

    Cross-Product AI Enablement

    • Collaborate with other Product Managers to identify where AI can enhance existing products and workflows, and to assess value, feasibility, risks, and commercial implications.

    • Create reusable product patterns, discovery approaches, and launch practices for AI features across the platform.

    • Support consistent positioning and governance of AI capabilities across the StarCompliance product portfolio.

    Executive & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Communicate AI product strategy, roadmap trade-offs, business cases, delivery progress, and measurable outcomes to senior executives.

    • Partner with the Chief Product Officer, CTO, Head of Data & AI, commercial leadership, and customer-facing teams to align AI investments with business priorities.

    • Represent the AI product roadmap in executive discussions, customer meetings, board-level materials, and strategic planning forums.

Required Experience & Skills

    Product Management

    • Proven success as a Product Manager in B2B software, taking complex products from discovery through launch, adoption, monetisation, and measurable business impact.

    • Strong product discovery skills, including customer interviewing, problem validation, opportunity sizing, experimentation, pricing input, and roadmap prioritisation.

    • Ability to translate ambiguous customer problems into clear product strategies, requirements, and delivery plans.

    • Strong commercial instincts — connecting product investment to customer value, revenue growth, retention, differentiation, and market expansion.

    AI, Data & Technology

    • Established track record delivering or managing B2B AI, data, analytics, automation, or machine learning products.

    • Strong practical understanding of AI product patterns.

    • Comfortable discussing AI product risks — explainability, hallucination, model performance, data quality, privacy, security, auditability, and customer trust — with enough technical fluency to make sound trade-offs without being the technical owner.

    Domain & Market Experience

    • Experience building software for financial services, compliance, regtech, surveillance, risk management, conduct risk, or similarly regulated domains is strongly preferred.

    • Experience with enterprise SaaS products, especially multi-tenant platforms serving sophisticated B2B customers.

    • Understanding of how regulated enterprises evaluate, procure, govern, and adopt AI-enabled software.

    Leadership & Collaboration

    • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority across product, engineering, data science, commercial, legal, security, and customer-facing teams.

    • Confident executive presence, communicating clearly with senior leaders, customers, and board-level stakeholders.

    • Highly structured thinker who brings clarity to ambiguous opportunities, with a bias toward action, experimentation, and measurable outcomes.

Preferred Experience

    • Launching commercial AI products or AI-enabled modules in B2B SaaS, and creating new product lines, SKUs, pricing models, or packaging strategies.

    • Working in private equity-backed or high-growth software businesses.

    • Familiarity with compliance workflows — personal account dealing, conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, political contributions, conduct risk, or trade surveillance.

    What Success Looks Like

Within your first 6–12 months, you will have:

    • Established a clear AI product roadmap with strong executive alignment and measurable business outcomes.

    • Validated priority AI use cases with customers, prospects, commercial teams, and delivery partners.

    • Defined new product, SKU, and monetisation opportunities for AI-enabled capabilities.

    • Partnered with the Head of Data & AI to move high-priority AI capabilities into production or advanced delivery.

    • Created a repeatable approach for AI product discovery, validation, launch, and adoption across StarCompliance.

    Leadership Profile

We are looking for someone who:

    • Combines strategic product vision with strong execution discipline.

    • Understands that successful AI products are built around customer problems, not technology novelty.

    • Operates confidently in ambiguity while bringing structure, focus, and momentum.

    • Is commercially minded, customer-obsessed, and collaborates naturally across product and technology leadership.

Integrity and Ethics

All StarCompliance employees are expected to commit to a high standard of personal integrity and carry out their responsibilities in an ethical manner.

Skills Required

  • Proven Product Management experience in B2B software, taking complex products from discovery to launch and monetisation

  • Practical understanding of AI product patterns (generative AI, predictive analytics, semantic search, recommendations)
  • Ability to assess and communicate AI risks: explainability, hallucination, model performance, data quality, privacy, security, and auditability
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS products, especially multi-tenant platforms serving B2B customers
  • Strong commercial instincts connecting product investment to revenue, retention, differentiation, and market expansion
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Experience building software for financial services, compliance, regtech, surveillance, or regulated domains
