About the Position
Product Development Technologist's main job is to improve our planet and make life delicious at Kraft Heinz. The Product Development Technologist lies within the International Kraft Heinz R&D. You'll be working in a high performing team, alongside peers always trying to reach the next level. You'll be reporting into Product Development Leader, Turkey.
Get ready for a lot of exposure to internal senior stakeholders. The delivery of NPD (New Product Development), VE (Value Engineering) SC (Supply Chain) projects and the enabling of new technologies will be your primary responsibility.
You're constantly looking for improvement activities within the International/Global Business.
In brief, you will be part of the International R&D and East team, taking a role as Product Development Technologist in the Kraft Heinz Turkey- Based in Susurluk; To ensure Heinz continues to deliver world class innovation and quality food products. You will be responsible for:

  • Project Technical Owner
    • Developing new and renovated products in the framework of NPD activities and value engineering in Turkey and run complex projects in Turkey
    • Proactively stimulating the NPD process, have an open-minded attitude with a clear focus on consumer driven innovation
    • Bring new ideas as much from an NPD perspective as from a value engineering perspective
    • Provide technological expertise where needed in the organization
    • Support driving the BU innovation and R&D strategy.
    • Lead the Development activities related to NPDs projects
    • Aligning and Implementing the R&D Strategies and Turkey goals Strat-plan into actions
    • Implement the 5 years innovation calendar and proactively new concepts.
    • Lead the assigned product development and formulation projects related to NPD, Innovations, Renovations, Offload, VE, Process excellence.
    • The owner of Sensory Marketing approvals for the benchtop trials and recipes development within the timeline.
    • To follow the regulations regarding packaging together with the regulatory affairs team
    • Develop and deliver new, improved or more cost-efficient products within the framework of the agreed innovation, cost-out pipeline and SC pipeline projects at the factory or at copackers.
    • Continuously find ways to improve our processes, ways of working, capabilities.
    • Create, develop and implement industrialized product solutions under specific projects, ensuring robust risk management and delivery of quality attributes in line with consumer's expectation, brand foundations and guidelines
    • Recipe formulation for Innovations & Renovations in line with target cost.
    • Managing the deliverables and milestones within the singed off timeline R&D documents, PLM & HIVE.
    • Keep all records and filing up to date for each trial across different scales.
    • Develop good relations with the internal customers: Regulatory, Finance, Procurement, Factory teams & Marketing to support the product development projects progress.
    • Make sure that Kraft Heinz regulations and standards are applied within the product development's stages.
    • Identify and implement process excellence & cost saving initiatives.
    • Create product ID cards and make the communication with related departments.
    • Participating technical feasibility studies and development for new product/ value engineering ideas.
    • Implement new projects with respect to SEI and ESG point of view
    • Conducting all studies to be ensure technical compliance, Procedures, Processes, Nutrition, Food Safety and Quality of New and Improved varieties that are brought to market.
    • Create product ID cards, BOM and defined documents in procedures and make the communication with related departments.
    • Issue final product specifications along with implementation team, FSQ teams with Heinz sites or copackers
    • Run and regularly reporting of benchmark studies
    • Act as competence resource to R&D's business partners
    • Provide input to the category strategy


  • Other
    • Support the R&D Product Development Leader in
    • Conducting literature and market research investigation
    • Manage/Participating in academic projects related to food innovations/research when necessary


You'll be based in Susurluk being part of the East R&D team. Under normal circumstances, the job could include travelling to the sites and working abroad.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in food engineering / chemical engineering or relevant Science discipline.

  • Work Experience: Relevant Experience as Technologist in a food company, preferably working in tomato and sauce processing
  • Knowledge:
    • Functional understanding of platform technology including: foundational science, ingredient functionality, formulation, product/process interaction, nutrition/regulatory considerations, food safety/microbiology requirements, analytical testing methods.
    • Hygienic Design, Thermal validation, Cleaning validation, CIP optimization, HACCP.
    • Mixing & Dosing, Homogenization, Emulsification, Pump and Fluid Transport.
  • Language Knowledge: Fluent in English
