We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Engineer / Scientist to join our R&D team in Mumbai. This role will focus on formula management and product development within the Institutional and Laundry (I&L) application areas, covering categories such as Floor Care, Building Care, and Personal Care. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, support formulation teams, and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including Regulatory, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Technical Services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct laboratory experiments, develop test protocols, analyze data, and document findings.

• Generate innovative ideas and solutions for new products and applications.

• Ensure product development aligns with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

• Prepare technical reports and presentations, and communicate progress to management and project teams.

• Manage formulation portfolios within the internal database system.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.

• Manage short-term project priorities, monitor timelines, and ensure successful project completion.

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to the R&D portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology, Chemical Technology, or a related discipline.

Experience:

• Master’s Degree: 4–5 years of relevant R&D experience in formulation and application development within areas such as hard surface cleaning, laundry applications, floor care, and personal care.

• Ph.D. Degree: 1–3 years of relevant R&D experience in formulation or application development.

Preferred Background and Skills:

• Strong foundation in polymer technology, formulation chemistry, and product stability.

• In-depth knowledge of chemistry, formulation science, specialty/FMCG chemicals, and R&D methodologies.

• Hands-on proficiency in laboratory techniques, product testing, and stability testing.

• Familiarity with project management principles including planning, estimating, monitoring, and controlling project activities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.

• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

• Result-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight timelines.
