Neapco is seeking a results-driven individual to join our team as a Product Development Engineering Manager. The Product Development Engineering Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, coordinating, and overseeing activities in the product development engineering department. This position will report to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Product Development Leadership at our corporate office, and is based at our Components facility in Beatrice, Nebraska. Job Description: PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING MANAGER
Including but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all activities of the Aftermarket (AM) and Original Equipment (OE) product development engineering teams.
- Lead the design and development of breakthrough driveline products supporting Neapco Components’ Aftermarket (AM) and Original Equipment (OE) portfolio.
- Ensure Neapco products and engineering procedures comply with all customer-specific requirements, internal company standards, and automotive PPAP requirements (such as IATF 16949, as applicable).
- Actively participate in APQP and PPAP activities supporting Neapco Drivelines designs produced at the Beatrice facility.
- Create annual product design engineering group goals and mentor the team to achieve dynamic results.
- Develop robust prototype plans, including material procurement, building and testing.
- Facilitate the launch of new products through cross-functional cooperation between local quality, manufacturing, sales, and production organizations.
- Define and administer an annual budget for the department.
- Champion frequent and effective communications with customers, suppliers, and all internal teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- 7-10 years of design and release experience with driveline, powertrain, or chassis systems.
- Demonstrated technical and professional skills in the job-related area.
- Familiarity with:
- Iron castings, steel and aluminum forgings, heat treat, machining and weld techniques
- CAE tools, DVP&R test planning, Six Sigma quality techniques, and powertrain NVH concepts
- IATF-16949 and automotive PPAP requirements
- 3+ years of related management or supervision experience.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others.
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required; MBA preferred.
