Engineer to design, develop and validate structural components for passenger trucks and vehicles. Looking for innovative problem solvers with ability to manage complex systems and components, design for efficiency and validate using engineering tools and knowledge. Talent to be able to understand and develop complex systems and balance deliverables to make most cost/weight effective and functional proposals for underbody components.
Design and Release Engineering for Frame, Mounts, Spare Tire Winches, and/or Tow Hooks, responsible for forward model development, release, and through launch.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll do...
- Design and Release Engineering for Frame, Mounts, Spare Tire Winches, and/or Tow Hooks, responsible for forward model development, release, and through launch.
- Absolute focus on delivery of robust designs and failure mode avoidance by applying engineering disciplines including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Perfect Drawing Plan and Engineering Specifications.
- Responsible for overall design leadership to meet vehicle attributes including package, crash, durability, commercial upfitting, and thermal management
- Responsible to lead, review, and approve, Frame Structure designs to ensure delivery to component ES, and vehicle requirements
- Responsible to resolve all durability, assembly, and functional issues identified
- Coach, technical mentor, and guide peer engineers with regular information exchange through Technical Club forums.
- Deliver focused Material Cost Reduction, Warranty reduction, and benchmarking

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (required).
- 3+ years of experience in frames or structures Design and Release
- The D&R Engineer is expected to understand and effectively utilize product check-in/check-out processes, version control, data release, and change management within Ford’s PLM ecosystem.
- CAD Capable (CATIA, 3DX)
- Excellent communication skills, written verbal.
- Ability to lead a team, work with cross functional group.

This position is a salary grade 6-8 and ranges from $74,300 - $166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
