Position Summary:

The Product Development Assistant for Levi’s Men’s Outerwear will support the product development team in creating, managing, and tracking seasonal samples and product details to deliver commercially successful collections. This role requires strong organization, communication skills, and a proactive mindset in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

Materials & Trims

  • Support in the development and approval of new materials and trims from prototype to production.
  • Maintain seasonal trim charts with all costing and detail updates; organize hard files and reference materials.
  • Assist with building and maintaining seasonal color palettes for cross-functional and overseas use.
  • Manage storage and organization of trims, supplies, and BOM reference swatches.

Communication & Documentation

  • Create and update production BOMs for all styles and ensure accuracy throughout the development cycle.
  • Send fit comments and sample updates to vendors and track all communications.
  • Request and manage sample orders with factories and suppliers.

Sample Logistics & Tracking

  • Maintain seasonal factory development charts and communicate changes to overseas partners.
  • Track samples with sales and marketing partners to ensure timely routing and delivery.
  • Coordinate incoming packages and manage sample organization standards across categories.

Technical Support

  • Create and update technical drawings, diagrams, and development documents including mini walls, specs, and costing files.
  • Assist in assembling presentation and internal communication tools to support milestone deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required
  • 1–2 years of experience in product development or related apparel field
  • Knowledge of apparel construction, BOMs, and development processes
  • Experience working in a high SKU volume environment preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookup, data manipulation)
  • Proficiency in PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Confident communication skills with ability to build relationships across teams and vendors
  • Comfortable working at a fast pace with shifting priorities and multiple simultaneous deadlines

Compensation

Hourly Range: $26.45 – $26.85 per hour

(Approx. Annualized Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 based on a 40-hour work week)

This compensation range is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.


Owned brands include: DKNY, Karl Lagerfeld Paris, Donna Karan, Vilebrequin, Sonia Rykiel, G.H. Bass, Bass Outdoor, Andrew Marc, Eliza J., GIII Sports and more.

Fashion licenses: Cole Haan, Dockers, Converse, Kenneth Cole, Levi’s, Vince Camuto, Margaritaville and more. We also operate retail stores for DKNY, Karl Lagerfeld Paris and Donna Karan brands.

Skills Required
