The product designer is responsible for designing and developing reusable product solutions using our products. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire product solution lifecycle, which includes researching user cases, designing robust solutions, testing, documenting, and iterating based on previous user feedback.

This role will work closely with the Product Manager, development team, and our marketing, sales and customer success teams to turn strategy into real product outcomes. The work you do will directly impact key business KPIs and the success of the product.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role with plenty of opportunity to learn, contribute ideas, and grow product management skills in a fast-moving environment.

Essential Functions

Research and Analysis:

• Conduct comprehensive research on use cases to understand client needs and requirements.

• Analyse industry trends and best practices to inform product and solution design.

Solution Design and Development:

• Create scope documents for discussion in collaboration with Product, Sales & Marketing.

• Develop proof-of-concept models to validate the feasibility of proposed solutions.

• Identify issues and present alternatives to mitigate or resolve problems.

• Engage with users and customers across the business to understand their needs.

• Design and build configurable solutions within HSI's product suite.

• Create specifications for solutions, including user stories and acceptance criteria where applicable.

• Collaborate with the product team to raise suggestions around features that could enhance the scalability of solutions and products.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

• Perform or arrange testing of product solutions to ensure functionality and performance.

• Identify and address any issues and bugs discovered within the solution.

Documentation:

• Write comprehensive documentation for each solution, including installation guides, user manuals, and technical specifications.

• Maintain and update documentation as solutions are iterated and improved.

User Feedback and Iteration:

• Gather and analyse feedback from users, sales, and marketing to identify areas for improvement.

• Stay informed about product enhancements and best practices.

• Implement changes and improvements based on new features, best practices, and user feedback to ensure continuous enhancement of solutions.

• Manage a backlog of prioritized feedback and potential improvements for the solutions.

Integrations and Implementations:

• Collaborate with third-party technology partners to design and implement integrations.

• Ensure that integrations are seamlessly incorporated into our products.

• Participate in design projects aimed at supporting and driving company growth.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, customer support, implementation, and marketing.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated on advancements in software design and development.

• Proactively seek opportunities to enhance existing processes and solutions.


Requirements

Must have

  • Experience in the worker's compensation discipline and/or the Solv Injury product
  • High-level technical capability from working with or around SaaS platforms
  • Excitement and ambition for contributing to the success of a product with high growth opportunity
  • Strong stakeholder management ability

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is desired; Master's Degree is a plus
  • Experience with Agile Methodology preferred
  • Experience with designing for the Donesafe platform is a significant plus
