Product Designer

Alex is seeking a Product Designer who will push boundaries, influence strategy, and drive the quality of our work. This is a hands-on position requiring conceptualization, research, project management, communication and presentation skills. With demonstrated talent across UI and UX design, you will drive the success of cutting edge AI products and design systems.

Reporting to the Founding Designer, you will be involved in design at every level – from early concepts to polished interfaces – and work closely with internal teams to ship work that delights users and drives impact.

This role is based in San Francisco and will be in-office five days a week.

• Play a lead role in end-to-end product design: research, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals

• Collaborate with Engineering, GTM, Customer Success, and Marketing to define product design needs and solve user problems

• Validate ideas and design decisions with qualitative and quantitative feedback by conducting and analyzing user research

• Push the visual and interaction design of Alex forward and help maintain its cohesion by designing and documenting systems and style guides

• Operate independently to prioritize multiple assignments, present work to internal stakeholders, and deliver killer creative under deadline

• Advocate for users and design innovation across the company

• 5+ years experience designing for web or mobile products

• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end product design work, including creation and management of design systems

• Experience transforming complex, configurable systems into elegant, intuitive interfaces that make powerful products feel simple.

• Deep passion and conviction for excellence in design, paired with enthusiasm and openness to feedback and critique. You balance functional execution with bold, creative ideas, eager to push boundaries and take creative risks.

• A team-first mindset with an eagerness to collaborate with a growing design team; skill in communicating to designers and non-designers alike. You’re able to effectively articulate your design decisions and what problems you’re solving

• Experience and strength in validating concepts through research, low and high-fidelity prototyping and user testing

• Solid understanding of UX principles, mastery of Figma and design fundamentals (typography, color, and layout)

• Experience in early-stage or fast-moving product teams preferred

• Animation and/or motion design experience is a plus

• User research experience is a plus
