In this role, you’ll apply your practical design knowledge to help organizations stay secure and productive, working closely with product and engineering partners to deliver meaningful results.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to grow their design skills in a supportive, collaborative environment. You’ll work on meaningful challenges, learn from experienced colleagues, and see your work make a difference for our customers.”
— Graham Beale, Director of Design & Research

What You’ll Do

  • Design Engaging Product Experiences: Apply your practical knowledge to create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that make complex tasks simple and intuitive.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Communicate with contacts inside and outside your immediate team to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. Work with product managers, engineers, and other designers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Support Research & Validation: Participate in user research and testing to inform and validate your design decisions.
  • Communicate & Document: Clearly explain your design thinking and document your work using collaboration tools, ensuring transparency and clarity.
  • Contribute to Team Goals: Work under moderate supervision to set objectives for your own job area, supporting the team's operational targets and having some impact on departmental results.
  • Adapt & Improve: Identify and address changes within your own job area, helping the team respond to evolving needs and priorities.

What You’ll Bring

  • Practical knowledge of product design principles and processes, ideally gained in a technical or regulated environment.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma) and a willingness to learn new systems (e.g. Jira).
  • Ability to self-organize, manage time effectively, and take ownership of your workflow to consistently meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong communication skills—able to explain your ideas to colleagues inside and outside your immediate team.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An interest in user research and a passion for designing accessible, user-friendly products.
  • Ability to adapt to change and contribute to operational improvements.

What We Bring

  • A purpose-driven culture where your work helps protect millions of people and organizations.
  • A supportive, collaborative team that values creativity, learning, and growth.
  • Competitive compensation as part of a broader total rewards package, including health, wellness, and flexible hybrid working.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills, learn from experienced colleagues, and explore new career paths within Mimecast.

  • Build your expertise in cybersecurity and user-centered design.
  • Take on increasing responsibility and grow into more senior or specialist roles.
  • Influence the future of our products and make a real impact for our customers.

Manager’s Working Style & Team Purpose

You’ll join a team that values open communication, practical problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Your day-to-day work will involve collaborating with colleagues in Minnesota and beyond, contributing your ideas, and helping us deliver great experiences for our users.
