~31% of global GHG emissions originate from food-related activities. For the first time in history, climate performance has become an overall business performance indicator. Enterprises are mandated by regulatory bodies to disclose their climate performance, which leads to increasing pressure from investors, competitors, retailers, and consumers to prevent and reduce their CO2e emissions. Over the next 10 years, companies have set ambitious reduction targets that need to be met. Enterprise software and new business processes can help.

Shape and mature Root's product suite, taking ownership of solutions that range from farmer-facing tools across European markets to enterprise platforms serving Europe's largest food industry players.

• At Root, product designers are generalists: We want you to own the process from user research to prototypes using Figma & AI tools, all the way to working with engineers to make it a reality.

• Help shape the design function at Root: we have ambitious goals; as an early design hire, you will be a key part of it.

• Create experiences for farmers spanning 10+ countries (and counting) and enterprise teams at Europe's largest food companies

• Own the end-to-end design for a number Root products in the works.

• Manage the expansion of Root’s product to other verticals/geographies, skill up into helping drive our product strategy, and service design offerings - we support you on your self-determined growth trajectory

• At least 2 years of experience in end-to-end product design

• Portfolio demonstrating previous experience across research, design and delivery of digital products & services

• Show strong product thinking and proactive ownership, comfortable solving complex climate challenges in ambiguous situations

• Worked with design systems and contributed to building them out

• Desire to dive deep into the world of (sustainable) food systems

• Fluent in English (German is a nice to have)

• Based in Berlin or willing to relocate
