SmartBear is pioneering innovation in software quality, embracing AI’s transformative potential.
The Role

At SmartBear, we believe building great software starts with quality—and we’re helping our customers make that happen every day. Our solution hubs—SmartBear API Hub, SmartBear Insight Hub, and SmartBear Test Hub, featuring HaloAI, bring visibility and automation to software development, making it easier for teams to deliver high-quality software faster. SmartBear is trusted by over 16 million developers, testers, and software engineers at 32,000+ organizations – including innovators like Adobe, JetBlue, FedEx, and Microsoft.

Team intro:

You will be a member of a highly experienced team – UX Researchers, Product Designers and Technical Writers. During your work at SmartBear you will have an opportunity to take part in the design process from the very beginning to the end. If you’re enthusiastic about creating products used by millions of developers and testers, you’re thirsty for knowledge, open-minded, and have a friendly approach, it’s a sign that you’ve come to a great place!

About the role:
  • Design complex workflows and features using our design system to deliver user-friendly, consistent, and visually engaging experiences.
  • Translate business and user challenges into intuitive solutions grounded in research, user empathy, and a clear understanding of goals.
  • Help define and evolve the Test Hub Cloud experience through thoughtful, user-centered design.
  • Lead end-to-end design initiatives—from discovery to delivery—ensuring alignment with product strategy and customer needs.
  • Collaborate closely with UX researchers, preparing interactive prototypes and participating in validation sessions to guide design decisions with real insights.
  • Maintain daily collaboration with project teams and the broader Product Design team, ensuring alignment and knowledge-sharing across initiatives.
  • Partner with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders across different cultures and disciplines to co-create value and achieve shared outcomes.
  • Present your work in team reviews, clearly articulating design decisions and adapting based on feedback from stakeholders and peers.
  • Participate in and facilitate workshops and ideation sessions to generate ideas and frame opportunities.
  • Build and maintain reusable design components to support efficiency and consistency across product surfaces.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture with a can-do approach, courage to speak up, and a mindset focused on continuous learning.
We are looking for you if you have:
  • Experience as a Product Designer, with a focus on B2B SaaS or enterprise products.
  • Experience designing data-heavy, multi-step workflows and complex interfaces for technical or professional users.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Miro, and other modern design tools, with daily use of design systems to streamline work.
  • Skilled in creating interactive prototypes for usability testing and research validation.
  • A strong understanding of user-centered design principles, coupled with the ability to transform complex problems into intuitive solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience working alongside UX researchers, applying insights to shape designs that solve real user needs.
  • Ability to design thoughtful, user-focused, and visually appealing interfaces that deliver clarity and delight.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to express ideas clearly and respectfully in a multicultural, distributed environment.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams (product managers, developers, product owners, etc.).
  • Familiarity with B2B UX/UI patterns and workflows, and a deep appreciation for designing at scale within technical constraints.
  • Fluent in English at B2 level or higher, both written and spoken.
  • Relevant educational background in design, HCI, psychology, or related fields.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience designing tools for technical audiences, such as quality engineers, testers, or developer teams.
  • Familiarity with product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude) to support data-informed design.
  • Exposure to agile, lean UX, or dual-track agile product development methodologies.

Why you should join the SmartBear crew:
