ABOUT THIS ROLE
Job Description
The Product Designer has an understanding of user-centered design and techniques, including task analysis, use cases, user journeys, usability testing and wire-framing. This role is able to research end users and develop solution designs that satisfy user and functional requirements. The UX/UI Designer works with the other designers, developers, technical content writers, and subject matter experts to translate user needs into easy to use and intuitive business applications.
At Apex Fintech Solutions, as aUX/UI Designer, you will champion the user throughout our products. You are passionate about the design process from gathering and compiling requirements, shadowing and interviewing the user, building wireframes and mockups, running usability studies, creating prototypes and writing detailed documentation.
Primary Responsibilities
- You are passionate about, and up to date on, user-centered design processes, systemic thinking, and interaction design principles.
- You will exercise your knowledge of design thinking, information architecture and user-centered design to deliver compelling user experiences.
- You will perform user interviews, user job shadowing and task analysis in order to understand the user's goals and to create user personas.
- From the requirements and user interviews you will create user flow diagrams, user journeys and user stories to describe the user's expectations, needs and pitfalls.
- You will work within an established design system to create wireframes, mockups and prototypes to describe and illustrate functions and features of interface concepts.
- You are open to, and actively solicit, feedback from the design team with an eye towards creating a universal user experience across all Apex products.
- As part of the UX/UI team you will participate in regular design reviews to evaluate in-progress design work.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Digital Design, Computer Science, HCI, a related discipline or 4 or more years of UX/UI design experience.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Able to work effectively in a team setting, including collaborating with other UX/UI designers and front-end developers via a distributed model to deliver design solutions for approval.
- Proficiency with Figma.
- Familiar with Confluence and JIRA.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiar with Enterprise and Web App design systems and constraints.
- Portfolio of design work demonstrating your user-centered design process, conceptualization skills, and design execution.
- Ability to thrive and take initiative in a fast-paced, Agile, environment.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Experience working in FinTech preferred.
