Product Designer
Job Summary
We're looking for a Product Designer that will help us create a seamless user journey by designing an optimal user experience. You design thoughtful solutions, based on user feedback and input from stakeholders. Working with people to solve problems together is something that you love. Visual Design + Brand
- Exemplifies strong layout, typography and visual hierarchy
- Ability to follow existing UI patterns and adhere to the Jabu design system
- Properly adheres and incorporates Jabu's brand into the product experiences of mobile and web
- Develops and advocates for above and beyond (magic) design for our users
- Navigates aesthetic vs functional needs to ensure the solutions we create are usable and delightful
- Identifies areas the Jabu design system can evolve visually and helps facilitate implementation
- Check and validate QA Tickets made by engineering team and compare it with the initial design
User Experience
- Follows established UX patterns across mobile and web
- Effectively communicates user perspective and demonstrates understanding of users with product organization
- Participates in user testing
- Advocates for the user within the product development team
- Partners with PM on conducting user tests (writing scripts, doing interviews, synthesizing feedback)
- Develops and executes cohesive/intuitive flows (accounts for error states, edge cases)
- Independently able to discuss technical challenges and negotiate for best possible experience
- Independently navigates projects or features with minimal specs or definition
- Independently leads user testing and implementation of learnings
Communication and Collaboration
- Builds and maintain a strong and effective relationship with PMs/engineering to discover solutions as a team
- Actively participates in QA process
- Gets feedback on designs early and often while learning how to incorporate feedback effectively
- Ability to communicate feedback and thought process effectively
- Drives design reviews and handles engineering questions/feedback
- Works with PM to understand and estimate design impact on roadmap
- Partners with PMs to define and help prioritize roadmaps
Business comprehension
- Demonstrates fluency in 1-2 product areas
- Understands and can articulate the company's mission at a high level
Leadership
- Helps to provide context and clarity in the product development team
- Sets an example by living Jabu's values
- Identifies and implements new processes or tools to help the design team
