Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Product Designer to join our team!
Responsibilities
- Utilize Creo to prepare design layouts on complex units and mechanisms for the defense industry
- Make design computations as required
- Prepare general specifications, such as bills of materials
- Collaborate with engineers, detailers, and other designers to develop innovative solutions
- Develop creative drawings from design objectives established by others
- Use manual or computer skills to complete design drawings
- Meet all customer requirements
- Onsite Creo training will be provided to candidates without previous experience
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in product design
- Proficiency using a sketch-based CAD software
- Experience in modeling from assembly drawings/packages
- Sheet Metal and/or structural design experience
- Solid Modeling and assembly design experience
- Analytical ability to recognize and solve design and mechanical problems
- Oral and written communication skills
- Must be a team player with strong collaborative skills
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads
- Availability to work between 40 to 60 hours per week based on project demands
- Must be willing to work remotely on Saturdays on an as-needed basis to meet customer demands
- Only United States Citizens can be considered
- Must Possess or be able to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates in Vehicle Design, Product Development, or related degree
- Experience with Creo 3D CAD software
- Experience in the military/defense industry
- Familiarity with Teamcenter or Vismockup is a plus
- Powertrain, chassis, or body design
