Job Description

You'll be joining the squad that defines Send. You'll tackle critical challenges around new customer activation and seamlessly integrating Send with Wise's comprehensive account vision, transforming customer mindsets from "I need to send money overseas" to "I can't imagine banking elsewhere."

Here's how you'll contribute:

  • Get to know our customers across the full spectrum — from nervous first-time senders to returning account users, building deep empathy for their diverse needs and the journey from perfect first transfer to daily account usage.

  • You'll help to drive the design strategy and direction within the Send squad, shaping current and future work towards our north star while personally leading critical design initiatives.

  • You'll use the full range of Product Design skills to discover, design and deliver simple, beautifully-crafted experiences that customers love, while managing and developing a team of 3 designers.

  • You'll set a high bar for design excellence, producing high-quality work no matter how big or small the task may be, and elevating the craft of your team to deliver cohesive experiences.

  • You'll collaborate across multiple teams and solve complex problems with cross-functional partners, balancing hands-on design execution with strategic leadership.

  • You'll actively foster a healthy design team culture, shaping our collaborative practices and mentoring budding designers while taking responsibility for team performance and business outcomes.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Own your impact. You decide with product teams what opportunities to work on, and help define their success metrics across new customer activation and account expansion growth

  • Elevate product quality. You define what 'good' looks like for Send experiences, and you help your team deliver experiences that convert skeptical users into loyal customers

  • Be part of a positive change in the world. We're fixing a broken, greedy system, and putting people and businesses in control of their money

About you:

  • You've got a portfolio of well-crafted, impactful work that solves real problems for real people, with experience leading teams and personally delivering exceptional design work.

  • You're both an experienced collaborator and people leader, designing in the open, leveraging other functions' expertise, and taking them on the journey with you while developing your team.

  • You have strong visual design and interaction design skills, with a passion for high quality fit and finish. You've worked with design systems to produce beautiful and functional design that scales, and experience with motion design is a significant plus.

  • You practice evidence-based design, and can articulate your decisions clearly and credibly while guiding others to do the same.

  • You're comfortable balancing hands-on design execution with team leadership, taking responsibility for both your own craft and your team's growth and performance.

  • You're curious about and have experience with generative AI prototyping tools, and see the potential for AI to enhance design processes and user experiences.
