ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Consult with Sales and Business Insights to define and establish design parameters.
Develop designs in conjunction with manufacturing to establish the most efficient production methodology.
Consider product cost drivers and work to provide designs that are value oriented, meeting the customer requirements at the lowest cost.
Active participant in the customer sample process as well as engineering prototypes.
Test, analyze or otherwise establish the functional parameters of new products and document accordingly.
Evaluate existing product designs and propose value engineering ideas for management consideration.
Create designs in 3D CAD and, from that, develop visual renderings, production drawings, and assembly instructions.
Assist packaging engineering in developing packaging methods.
Assist Quality Assurance in determining if product meets the intended quality parameters, including adherence to drawing dimensions and tolerances.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess good communications skills and be comfortable dealing with diverse groups and individuals throughout the organization. Must have a good working knowledge of computers including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Must know how to use 3D Cad system (SolidWorks preferable). Ability to multitask and work several projects simultaneously and often under some time pressure.

Lift up to 50 pounds, walk the shop floor, walk up and down stairs
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BS Mechanical or similar Engineering, BS Industrial Design, or equivalent experience required. Pay is commensurate with education and experience.

Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a similar engineering discipline, or Industrial Design; equivalent experience may be accepted.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with a 3D CAD system; SolidWorks preferred.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with diverse organizational groups.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects under time pressure.
