For a winning team that is evolving.  Forward with Cuscal.

Ever tapped your phone to buy a morning coffee, or made a purchase from your favourite online store? Chances are, we’ve made it happen.

At Cuscal, we’ve been at the forefront of payments innovation for 59 years, enabling seamless, secure solutions that millions of Australians rely on every day. From launching Australia’s first ATM to being the first certified Australian fast payments Payer and Initiator in 2022, we’ve always pushed boundaries.

We are looking for a Product Data Analyst to join our Regulated Data Services team.

In an increasingly data-driven marketplace, access to consumer data is the key to value creation and profitable growth. The rollout of the Consumer Data Right (CDR) empowers Australian businesses to offer their customers greater choice, control and convenience, by leveraging consumer data. As a trusted CDR partner, Cuscal provides the infrastructure and connectivity solutions businesses need to connect to this open data ecosystem.

Cuscal has leveraged nearly 60 years of experience managing sensitive payments data, to create solutions that help businesses comply with the CDR. These include data holder, data recipient and data holder production verification testing.

The Product Data Analyst will support data‑driven decision making across the Data Domain by analysing product performance, enabling high‑quality insights, and ensuring data integrity across end‑to‑end workflows

About the Role:

  • Analyse user and product behaviour to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Perform hands on SQL, data validation, and largescale dataset profiling; contribute to notebooks using Python or PySpark where relevant.

  • Use GitHub for version control, code review, collaboration, and documentation of analytics assets (SQL, notebooks, tests, and metadata).

  • Define, maintain, and improve product performance metrics and reporting frameworks.

  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability across pipelines, dashboards, and downstream outputs.

  • Interpret product schematics, data flows, and technical artefacts to support feature development and optimisation.

  • Conduct end to end root cause analysis across data pipelines

  • Support billing activities and regulatory reporting through rigorous data checks, reconciliation, and auditable quality controls.

  • Partner closely with engineers and product teams to deliver changes safely through versioned releases, monitoring, and controlled rollout/rollback procedures.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a data, analytics, computer science, statistics or technology related discipline.

  • Hands‑on experience with SQL, data validation, and large‑scale dataset profiling, with working knowledge of Python or PySpark notebooks.

  • Demonstrated experience building reliable dashboards and product KPI frameworks, with clear communication of insights and trends.

  • Comfortable working in GitHub for version control, peer review, collaboration, and documenting analytics assets
  • Certification in analytics engineering, data analysis, or related data disciplines (e.g., dbt, Databricks, SQL, BI tools).

  • Agile delivery certifications such as Scrum, Kanban, or similar frameworks.

  • Additional training in data governance, data quality, or regulatory data management highly regarded.
