Job Description
The division Automotive Steering (VM-EPS) develops high performance Electronic Power Steering (EPS) systems. Through the combination of mechanical and electrical systems we not only make driving more comfortable today but we are also building the basis for the autonomous and electrical driving of tomorrow.
Become part of a product manager team and identify and develop long-term growth chances, including strategies for your business area.
Your tasks:
► Take responsibility
As a Product Cost Manager you have full responsibility for the profit activities for customer projects together with a cross functional project team (consisting of Purchasing, Sales, Engineering, Industrialization, Cost calculators and internal Bosch suppliers).
► Shape the future
Target Cost Setting and pricing guideline for acquisition, development and serial projects.
Taking over the responsibility for one functional excellence topic and defining a process / tool to make your life and the life of our colleagues easier.
The Profit Target Setting for platform, acquisition, development and serial projects is worked out by you. You ensure achievement of measures via cross-functional project work.
► Observe and think ahead
Identify cost potentials along the whole product lifecycle with relevant tools (benchmarking, shadow calculations, cost-workshops, pricing discussions) but also with creative out-of-the-box-thinking. Take the ownership and make your projects profitable!
You contribute to the profitability of our business with the target to establish, align and accept an EBIT overview per customer account/project as a basis for development required action measures. That includes:
- Definition, Implementation of structure, processes and tools to steer EBIT of customer accounts
- Elaborate Transparency of EBIT profitability for each customer project
- Regular Reporting to Management of EBIT targets per project and account / (KPI reviews)
- Identification of measures based on EBIT performance
► Experience cooperation
Being a project member during acquisition, development and in series phase: definition of fields of action for cost optimization together with the project team, support and track the implementation of measures with an entrepreneurial focus.
As a part of the Center of Competence you elaborate opportunities for customer project calculation and lead the evaluation process with all stakeholders. You also plan, coordinate and follow up all activities around the calculation process.
Qualifications

- You are capable of managing several projects and you enjoy dealing with complex tasks.

- You are interested in technical products and the automotive industry.
► Working practice
- You have a structured working-style and you think analytically and strategically.
- You analyze complex issues quickly, reliably and accurately.
- You are result-oriented and can prioritize targets.
► Experience and Knowledge
- You have experience as a commercial project leader in Controlling, Sales or in other commercial functions (e.g. as a project manager) within the automotive industry.
- You are able to handle multiple complex topics at the same time based on business needs and you show a very good skill to prioritize tasks.
- A proven track record on profitability improvement, leading cost-down projects is a plus.
- Or you have a full technical background but you would like to develop yourself further by understanding the commercial side of the business as well.
► Education
- You have a university degree with a technical or commercial focus in Finance, Business Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or a comparable field of studies.
► Languages
- You are fluent in English (min. B2 level). German is a plus.
► Travelling
- You are willing to travel worldwide based on business needs – but you are also able of building up relationships to regions virtually.
