The Role

The Configuration Engineer for Product Networking provides support as the hub in the architecture of product documentation and bill of material creation based on customer requirements. Working with product development, the Engineer will define the bill of material structure based on the systems engineering defined interfaces and product application rules to ensure the top-level bill of material creation process is efficient and has effectively taken into consideration the needs of product management, supply chain management, the assembly and installation processes and the needs for customer support.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:

  • Create and maintain accurate and consistent BOM structures.
  • Support ECO generation ensuring appropriate implementation of dispositions and impact.
  • Monitor, promote and ensure document control processes are being followed.
  • Support cross-functional teams in the revision, and release process.
  • Support the release and distribution of all change control items.
  • Support site-specific changes and evaluate impact and implementation of the change.
  • Provides SME guidance and support for all CM and DM competencies including PLM.
  • Ensure high levels of communication with team, support resources and management regarding issue identification and resolution.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical and other related duties as assigned.

SOFT SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Effective communication skills to provide critical feedback to ensure the process is followed and data quality is excellent.
  • Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Must produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a customer-service attitude.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Configuration Management
  • Bill of materials (BOM) and change control management experience.
  • Requires basic knowledge of office procedures and basic computer skills in Microsoft office.
  • Ability to work under general direction.
  • Experience using a PLM system.
  • A four-year degree or a two-year degree augmented with courses and/or seminars in engineering change control, change requests is preferred.
