Bring your energy to Aggreko as Product Configuration & BOM Engineer based in Pune. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and governance of product Bill of Materials (BoM) within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. The position supports product change management activities, standard product configuration development, and option management to ensure products can be efficiently manufactured, sold, and supported throughout their lifecycle. The role serves as a key interface between Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to maintain accurate product structures and configuration data.

What you’ll do as Product Configuration & BOM Engineer:
- Create, maintain, and manage engineering Bill of Materials (BoM) structures within the PLM system.
- Ensure product structures, assemblies, components, and configurations remain accurate and up to date.
- Process and implement engineering changes through established change management procedures.
- Coordinate engineering change notes, approvals, and documentation activities across multiple stakeholders.
- Support Product Improvement Proposals (PIPs) and ensure approved changes are reflected in product structures and documentation.
- Develop and maintain standard product configurations and selectable options based on Sales, Marketing, and Product Management requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design changes are accurately incorporated into PLM systems and BoMs.
- Manage configuration rules, option dependencies, and product variants to support efficient product ordering and manufacturing.
- Support pricing and commercial option management by coordinating with Product Management and Commercial teams.
- Communicate product configuration updates, option availability, and pricing changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor data quality and conduct periodic audits to maintain BoM accuracy and configuration integrity.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Service teams to resolve product structure and configuration-related issues.
- Generate reports and provide configuration data to support business decisions and operational activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for configuration management, PLM processes, and data governance.
You are:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in engineering data management, product configuration, PLM administration, BoM management, or product engineering.
- Strong understanding of Bill of Materials structures, product configuration management, and engineering change management processes.
- Experience working with PLM systems and engineering data management tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product structures, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work across multiple functions and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
