Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly driven candidate ready to leverage their EU regulatory experience on Operational Resilience in a dynamic fintech environment.
This is an opportunity to work directly with product managers, analysts, and engineers to design, develop, and embed and scale Operational Resilience processes directly into Wise's products, technology, and operational workflows across Wise’ EU licensed entities.
This role sits within the Wise’ Regional EU Product Compliance and Risk team, part of the wider (1Lod) Product Organisation.
Your mission:
Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the World’s first platform to offer true international multi-currency accounts.
Your mission is to further establish, operationalise, and continuously improve Wise’s Operational Resilience framework, with a primary focus on DORA. This is not a one-off compliance exercise, but a role focused on embedding and scaling DORA-compliant processes.
Here’s how you’ll be contributing and making an impact:
Operationalise DORA Frameworks & Resilience
Translate DORA policy requirements into practical, embedded operational controls within EU critical services and technology.
Design and run the DORA governance and maintenance cycles, including regular reviews of Criticality Assessments (CIFs), dependency mapping and scenario testing.
Embed resilience by ensuring Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Impact Tolerances (ITs) are practical, tested, and actively managed by Product and Engineering teams.
Integrate DORA-compliant processes for incident management, ensuring streamlined reporting and operational response to digital resilience events.
Oversee the continuous, practical deployment and execution of the resilience plan across the EU, focusing on operational reality over documentation.
Strategy, Alignment & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate closely with the Global Head of Operational Resilience to align EU DORA requirements with the global resilience strategy and policies.
Lead the ongoing review of EU critical business processes, dependencies, and third-party arrangements to ensure continuous adaptive resilience.
Regulatory & Remedial Action Delivery
Support the CTO in interactions with third parties (e.g.. Banking Partners, Regulators, etc) to explain our’ operation resilience program in Europe.
Own the end-to-end delivery of any required remedial actions or observations, operationalising them into sustainable, long-term processes.
Support the EU testing program (DORT), including advanced scenario testing, and provide regular reporting on program status, effectiveness, and maturity to senior management and EU committees.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
Lead end-to-end design and implementation of Wise’s Operational Resilience framework in the EU, moving beyond policy to embed resilience directly into product and engineering workflows.
Drive change in a high-growth fintech environment by working directly with Product and Engineering teams to set and test crucial metrics like Impact Tolerances (ITs) and RTOs
Influence strategic alignment of EU DORA requirements with Wise’s global resilience policies while managing the delivery of all required remedial actions to completion.
Report directly on the status and maturity of the resilience program to Senior Management and EU committees.
Qualifications
Proven regulatory experience interpreting EU Regulations on Operational Resilience, specifically DORA.
Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and running DORA frameworks (governance, testing, incident management) in a regulated financial institution.
Ability to translate (complex) regulatory requirements into clear actionable requirements.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively influence Product, Engineering, and Senior Leadership (including the CTO).
Willing to travel, as Wise offices are located across different countries.
Legally authorized to work in the the EU (Belgium)
Some extra skills that would be great:
Able to speak French or Dutch.
Previous experience in a financial institution regulated in Belgium.
Experience in Payment Regulations / Compliance.
