The Product Expert Program lead by the Product Communications Manager is designed to overcome health barriers and product misconceptions particularly among key stakeholders that decide about product listings/distribution, be it in the trade, at universities, or in on premise restaurants and accounts.
Product Communication Managers have a science, nutrition, health or sports background and can competently answer product questions. They complement the work of the Science and Regulatory department who speak to governments and national institutions, however, are part of the country marketing team and service the entire organization. In addition to product knowledge, the Product Expert is also the in-house resource for all sustainability related topics, both training on Red Bull’s approach, and participating in mapping our efforts in becoming more sustainable across all of our marketing activities (e.g. at events, in collaboration with partners etc.)
Job DescriptionOVERCOME BARRIERS TO LISTINGS AND PREVENTING DELISTINGS
Drive national strategy of growing reach by defusing product related concerns across all channels and playgrounds including classic trade and convenience as well as key strategic so-called “non-traditional outlets” – such as in universities as well as in on premise – particularly daytime outlets.
Help prevent delistings where customers are concerned about product because of negative word of mouth or media coverage.
Support Sales teams with:
New RFPs, tradeshows and customer meetings that require product knowledge and advocacy.
Nutrition, ingredient, and allergen information, liaising with Global Quality Assurance team.
NETWORK MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
Leverage existing network, while also identifying new networks of credible 3rd party experts and opinion leaders who could provide value to the program in collaboration with the Regulatory & Science Team and marketing team.
Attend conferences relevant to the health/wellness/sports and product marketing landscape to stay current and understand what other brands are doing in this space (Not to present but to learn).
Work with Regulatory Affairs and trade associations Corporate Social Responsibility product communications tools and campaigns for issues management purposes/proactive education of the public (ie. Caffeine Awareness Month, Smart Portions).
MANAGE INTERNAL PRODUCT TRAINING AND COMMUNICATION
Work on product related topics with all departments to drive product understanding and relevance internally (product and sustainability presentations, support) and externally.
Manage product trainings for consumer collecting teams, new athletes, and employees.
PLANNING AND REPORTING
Collaborate via global reporting tool contributing to discussion pages to exchange learnings and best practices with local and global Product Communication Manager network.
Maintain collaboration and dialogue with the international team as well as Regulatory & Science around potential topics that require their expertise.
Create and implement business plan/strategy around big moments, sales priorities, and new product launches to drive business collaboratively around sustainability and product advocacy.
QualificationsRequired: Health / Nutrition / Sports / Science Experience.
Registered Dietician designation preferred.
3-5+ years working experience.
Excellent Presentation/Negotiation Skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to navigate conversations with diplomacy.
High standard of integrity with a passion for the brand and commitment to Red Bull values.
An entrepreneurial ‘can-do’ attitude facilitated by continuous learning and application of appropriate ‘best practices’.
