In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead product certification activities for new and existing products to support global market access.
  • Coordinate certification projects with recognized certification bodies and testing agencies.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain technical certification documentation, test reports, and compliance files.
  • Interpret certification requirements and provide technical guidance to product development teams.
  • Evaluate products for compliance with electrical safety, hazardous location, marine, and international regulatory requirements.
  • Support certification programs including UL, CSA, CE, ATEX, IECEx, ABS, DNV, and other applicable approvals.
  • Maintain the organization's UL and IEC accredited testing laboratory, ensuring continued compliance with accreditation requirements, laboratory procedures, equipment calibration, audit readiness, and quality system obligations.
  • Conduct and support product safety testing in accordance with applicable UL, CSA, IEC, and international standards.
  • Support internal and external audits related to laboratory accreditation and product certification activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and product management teams to address certification and compliance requirements.
  • Review test data and certification reports to verify compliance with applicable standards.
  • Investigate certification and compliance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving global certification requirements, standards, and regulatory developments
  • Manage environmental compliance requirements, including RoHS compliance programs, material declarations, supplier documentation, technical file reviews, and regulatory reporting activities

For this Role, You Will need:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or other related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in product safety engineering, product certification, compliance testing, or related safety engineering functions.
  • Experience working with certification agencies such as UL, CSA, Intertek, TÜV, or equivalent bodies
  • Experience supporting products through certification and compliance activities for global markets.
  • Hands‑on experience with ordinary and hazardous location standards such as UL/IEC 62368-1, IEC 60079, UL, CSA, FM, ATEX, and IECEx
  • Hands-on experience conducting product safety testing and working directly with recognized certification bodies and regulatory organizations.
  • Familiarity with product categories such as switch mode power supplies and UPS.
  • Proficiency with common productivity tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AI tools.
  • Ability to understand schematic diagrams, magnetic specifications and other design related drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
 
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory management systems
  • Experience with EMI/EMC testing and compliance requirements
  • Experience with LVD testing and regulatory requirements
  • Hands‑on experience conducting product safety testing
  • Working knowledge of CE/UKCA marking is an added advantage.
