ispace Europe is seeking a highly motivated and talented Product Assurance Engineer to join our team.
Our vision is to expand and sustain humanity’s presence in space by developing a lunar economy based on the resources available on the Moon.
As the regional office of ispace in Luxembourg, we are creating the first lunar resource exploration service by developing ispace’s next generation rovers for prospecting lunar water and other resources. We are a small, international team motivated by the challenges of the Lunar Frontier and committed to achieving the company’s vision.
This is a unique opportunity to join a truly fascinating project exploring resources on the Moon. In this role, you will work with a small international team of engineers and be primarily responsible for the production and verification of our Micro Rovers and Exploration Rovers.
As a Product Assurance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of our lunar products. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality management systems, conducting assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
The position is based in Luxembourg and reports to the PA/QA Group Manager (CTO Group), working closely with the team members of ispace Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement product/quality assurance throughout the lifecycle of rover projects.
- Develop and implement PA/QA plans.
- Collaborate with suppliers and customers to address process-related concerns and ensure alignment in quality requirements..
- Oversee the manufacturing process, providing support for inspection activities and reviews of suppliers' documents.
- Manage Parts, Materials, and Processes activities.
- Participate in design/engineering/MAIT/manufacturing reviews.
- Participate in customer/supplier reviews.
- Collect and analyze data on process performance.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess process compliance and identify possible risks or non-conformances.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
- Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of a compliant quality system and promote a quality culture throughout the organization.
Key Requirements
- Engineering Degree in a scientific or technical discipline with 3-5 years’ experience working in a quality engineer position in a space environment.
- Knowledge in the development/production of a space application product
- Be passionate about quality assurance.

- Understanding EEE, Radiations, AIT, software QA/PA
- Practical knowledge of standards: ECSS, EN9100, ISO 9001.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with space flight hardware.
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication, integration processes, quality, and configuration management systems.
- Experience with successfully engaging and collaborating with distributed teams.

What We Do
ispace is a lunar exploration company with a vision to extend human presence to outer space. The company is developing lunar landers and rovers to deliver customer payloads to the Moon and explore the lunar surface. In doing so, we aim to be a vehicle for companies on Earth to access new business opportunities on the Moon and ultimately incorporate the Moon into Earth’s economic and living sphere. The company is currently planning to its first mission to the Moon as early as Q4 2022.
