We are looking for a Product Marketing Associate to play a key role defining and developing product positioning and go-to-market plans in alignment with overall product strategy. This role works closely with product management, the global sales team, and the broader marketing organization to support product lifecycle communications, sales and partner enablement, and integrated marketing campaigns.
 
A key part of this role is the ability to understand technically complex products and translate features into clear, compelling business value for diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will play an important role in mapping our product features to customer benefits, uncovering market insights and proof points that resonate with B2B and B2G buyers in the telecom, aviation, maritime, government and defense sectors. Your understanding of our competitors and their offerings will ensure that our unique value proposition is the foundation of marketing communications campaigns that drive quality sales leads and pipeline.
 
The Product Marketing Associate will work closely with our global sales team to identify gaps in customer-facing content or tools needed to support sales conversations throughout each stage of the sales funnel. As new sales enablement materials are developed, you will ensure sales teams are aware of the assets and trained on the narrative for presenting them.
 
The ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for creating powerful, customer-facing presentation decks that are aligned with our sales methodology. You approach the execution of deliverables with a sense of urgency to deliver results that drives sales success.

This is an individual contributor role with tremendous growth potential, as the Telesat Lightspeed business scales.

Main Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with product management and marketing communications, define differentiated product positioning that resonates with our target markets and buyer personas, with associated proof points
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the key liaison between Product Management, Sales, and Marketing, ensuring full alignment on market priorities, launch timelines, and sales enablement initiatives.
  • External content creation: Create and maintain compelling customer presentation decks, continuously updating to incorporate new service features or evolving value propositions. Develop use cases, case studies, white papers and collateral; collaborate with the marketing communications team to create professional materials that are aligned with brand standards
  • Develop relationships with our sales teams; understand and document our buyer’s evaluation process, information sources, and the value drivers that resonate with each target audience. Share learnings across the sales and marketing teams to drive increased effectiveness in marketing and sales communication approaches.
  • Communicate the vision and value of Telesat Lightspeed services with our sales teams; uncover challenges and roadblocks our sales and business development teams face and develop sales enablement materials that help sales articulate the product value proposition to appropriate targets, including playbooks, buyer persona guides, competitive battle cards. Update as required to adjust for market shifts and product evolution. Provide training on how to use/deliver content assets as they are developed.
  • Develop and execute strategies to ensure sales teams are aware of all customer-facing and sales enablement content assets.
  • Provide inputs into the annual marketing plan for each vertical market to support Telesat’s growth and market share goals. Review campaign performance KPIs and provide recommendations for improving messaging and lead generation
  •  Other duties as assigned and related to the nature of this role and company initiatives.

Education and Experience required

  • 3+ years B2B product marketing experience with proven success in positioning differentiated products with successful outcomes.
  • Technology, telecom or satellite industry background preferred.
  • Strong influence and collaboration skills; you can align with internal and external stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Power user of Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), with a passion for creating
  • Strong public speaking skills and comfortable in front of large internal audiences as well as executive-level external audiences when required
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Creative and positive spirit with the ability to innovate and thrive in a dynamic, often pressure-packed environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing; MBA a plus
  • Experience with insight and value-selling messaging methodologies a plus
  • Travel as needed, less than 10% expected
