Product Management:
Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital channels (mobile app, USSD, internet banking) and internal operational tools in alignment with business goals.
Market Research: Conduct competitor analysis and market research to identify trends, customer pain points, and opportunities for innovation in the microfinance space.
Backlog Ownership: Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing business value, technical feasibility, and regulatory requirements.
Performance Monitoring: Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for products (e.g., adoption rates, transaction volumes, user satisfaction) and use data to drive iterative improvements.
Go-to-Market Support: Collaborate with marketing and operations to launch new features, create training materials, and ensure successful adoption by both staff and customers.
Business Analysis:
Requirements Elicitation: Work with stakeholders (Credit, Operations, Risk, Finance) to capture detailed functional and non-functional requirements for new features and system enhancements.
Process Optimization: Analyze current workflows within the Core Banking System (CBS) and lending processes, identifying bottlenecks and recommending automated solutions.
Documentation: Translate product vision into detailed user stories, Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), and Functional Specifications for the development team.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison between business units and the technical team, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations throughout the development cycle.
UAT Coordination: Define UAT test cases, coordinate testing with business users, and validate that delivered solutions meet the defined acceptance criteria.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 4-7 years of combined experience as a Business Analyst and/or Product Manager, specifically within the Banking or Financial Services industry. Experience in microfinance or digital lending is highly preferred.
Product Skills:
Proven ability to define product strategy and manage a product roadmap.
Experience with product analytics tools and data-driven decision-making.
Familiarity with UX design principles and customer-centric development.
Technical & Analytical Skills:
Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and reporting.
Experience with Core Banking Systems (e.g., T24, Finacle, Flexcube, or any microfinance-specific platform).
Knowledge of API integrations, payment gateways (NIBSS, Remita), and digital channels.
Proficiency in product/project management tools.
Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of lending operations, deposit mobilization, and regulatory compliance (Central Bank of Nigeria guidelines) as they relate to technology.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting to senior management and explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
Highly organized, able to manage multiple products and projects simultaneously in a hybrid work environment.
