Producibility Engineer I support manufacturing quality, fabrication readiness, and product manufacturability by helping ensure production requirements are clear, controlled, compliant with applicable standards, and executable on the shop floor. This entry-level engineering role focuses on quality assurance while also supporting process documentation, production support, and continuous improvement activities.
The Producibility Engineer I serves as a quality focal point by supporting process inspections, final inspections, and production issue resolution. The role works closely with Engineering and Production teams to review technical documentation, identify manufacturability concerns, support nonconformance investigations, and maintain alignment between engineering requirements and fabrication execution.
Responsibilities- Support quality assurance activities for fabricated parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
- Assist with review and interpretation of engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
- Ensure the latest blueprint approved revisions are available to fabrication and production teams.
- Support manufacturability reviews by identifying potential fabrication, tolerance, material, tooling, inspection, and process-capability concerns.
- Help investigate quality issues, nonconformances, defects, and production concerns while supporting root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
- Provide technical support to fabrication teams to clarify requirements and reduce production delays.
- Assist in documenting process improvements, inspection requirements, quality alerts, lessons learned, and job instructions.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve product producibility, reduce rework, and support first-time quality.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on quality, cost, schedule, safety, and production efficiency.
- Support data collection and reporting related to quality performance, defects, rework, scrap, and process improvement opportunities.
