The Quality Engineer II supports the Quality team in ensuring that products and processes meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100), supporting root cause and corrective action activities, participating in audits, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using structured methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Participate in internal audits, process audits, supplier audits, customer audits, and regulatory audits
  • Review manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and inspection plans
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain) to resolve quality issues
  • Assist in nonconformance management
  • Support customer and regulatory audits as required
  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable standards
  • Support customer communications related to quality issues, audit findings, and corrective action plans
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive timely resolution of quality concerns
  • Assist in evaluating audit findings and supporting decisions related to compliance, risk mitigation, and corrective actions
  • Promote a quality culture and adherence to procedures on the shop floor
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field)
  • 0–3 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Manufacturing (internships/co-ops acceptable)
  • Experience supporting internal, customer, supplier, or regulatory audits
  • Experience interacting with customers regarding quality issues, corrective actions, or audit findings is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of quality tools and methodologies
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP) is a plus
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP is preferred
  • Intermediate conversational English required, with the ability to effectively communicate in meetings, audits, and customer discussions

Working Conditions

  • Primarily based in a manufacturing environment, with time spent on the production floor
  • May require use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Occasional overtime or support during audits and customer visits
 

Nice-to-Have (Optional Enhancements)

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt)
  • Experience using Minitab or statistical analysis tools
  • Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102
  • Experience supporting customer-facing quality activities and audit preparation
  • Experience participating in discussions and resolution of audit findings with customers or regulatory representatives
  • Exposure to supplier quality management and customer satisfaction initiatives

Skills Required
