The Procurement Supervisor oversees day‑to‑day procurement operations to ensure the timely, cost‑effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services. This role supervises procurement staff, supports vendor management, ensures adherence to purchasing policies and procedures, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to meet organizational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and support procurement staff, including workload distribution, training, and performance management
  • Oversee purchasing activities, including requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, and renewals
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements
  • Review and approve purchase orders within delegated authority
  • Coordinate competitive bidding, RFPs, and vendor selection processes
  • Monitor supplier performance, pricing, delivery, and service levels
  • Resolve procurement issues, discrepancies, and vendor concerns
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other departments to forecast purchasing needs
  • Assist with contract negotiations and cost‑saving initiatives
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting
  • Support audits and ensure proper documentation and internal controls
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of procurement specialists, buyers, or clerical staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of procurement staff

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of procurement or purchasing experience
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • Knowledge of procurement principles, contract management, and supplier negotiations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency with ERP or procurement systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
