What you’ll do…

We are looking for a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful professional to help the Supply Chain Organization manage purchase orders within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills and have experience in buying, procurement, and purchase order management. This role will help report to the Supply Chain Manager at the main office in an office/hybrid role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing purchase orders from creation to delivery, ensuring materials are available to support the production schedule and minimizing downtime
  • Monitoring supplier performance, expediting orders when necessary, and proactively resolving delays or shortages
  • Delivering regular procurement and order status reports to manufacturing and operations leadership
  • Coordinating closely with production planning to align material availability with manufacturing requirements
  • Maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, deliveries, and backorders while ensuring system data integrity
  • Building and maintaining effective communication with vendors to confirm order details, shipment schedules, and issue resolution

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
  • Proven ability to collaborate across internal teams and with external vendors
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure purchase order accuracy and compliance
  • Physical requirements and working conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

 Preferred Skills:

  • Have prior experience in procurement, purchasing, and vendor management in a manufacturing environment
  • Have knowledge and experience in Microsoft Business Central
  • Understand material planning, scheduling, and expediting to meet production timelines
  • Have knowledge in sourcing electrical and mechanical components for generators
  • Excel at maintaining supplier relationships and developing strong partnerships for long-term success
