This position reports to:
Operations Manager__
Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will actively shape the global procurement strategy in the product groups of drive technology and electrical components with a focus on Asia procurement strategies with a global orientation. You will work closely with the research and development department, suppliers and international category teams to achieve sustainable savings across the entire supply chain. Your relevant market knowledge, combined with analytical and commercial expertise, sets you apart.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies locally for electromechanical/mechanical components and assemblies, with a focus on Total Cost of Ownership and best-cost country sourcing
- Lead RFQs, supplier selection, and contract, price, and framework agreement negotiations.
- Drive sustainable cost reductions through value‑engineering, design‑to‑cost, supplier workshops, cost‑transparency analyses, and make‑or‑buy or footprint evaluations.
- Manage the strategic supplier portfolio, including supplier development, risk assessments, and implementation of dual/second‑source strategies for series production.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Industrial Engineering, and Quality to ensure optimized specifications and readiness for industrialization.
- Development and execution of global strategic sourcing strategies for mechanical components (made of plastic and metal) and assemblies, with strong focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and best‑cost country sourcing
- Management of RFQs, supplier selection, and price, contract, and framework agreement negotiations
Qualifications for the role:
- Degree in business administration, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or comparable qualification
- Strong understanding of electro‑mechanical components (connectors, PCBs, cable harnesses, motors).
- Familiarity with core materials such as metals, plastics, copper, insulation, and magnetic materials.
- Ability to evaluate cost drivers across components (materials, labor, tooling, production steps, market constraints).
- Several years of experience in the local market is essential; international strategic procurement experience in an industrial environment is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Analytical, results‑oriented mindset with high negotiation strength and stakeholder management skills
