He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
Join our dynamic Procurement team and play a key role in Watercare’s sourcing and supplier management activities. This is a great opportunity for someone with procurement experience who’s ready to take the next step and broaden their skills.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders and suppliers to deliver effective procurement outcomes, while learning from experienced professionals and contributing to projects that make a real impact.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage day-to-day procurement activities, including market engagement, RFX planning and execution.
- Category planning that delivers value and efficiency.
- Negotiations and contract drafting and management, ensuring compliance and strong commercial outcomes.
- Maintain supplier and contract records, monitoring performance and resolving issues as needed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide practical, timely solutions.
- Contribute to reporting and analysis to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

You’re proactive, organised, and enjoy working with people. You have a good understanding of procurement processes and are keen to develop your skills further.
Your background might include:
- 5 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
- Familiarity with sourcing, supplier management, and contract management
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in excel.
- A collaborative mindset.
