What you'll do:
- Create and execute procurement strategies to ensure cost control, continuous improvement and efficient management of resources and processes.
- Support internal and external relationships, effectively communicating sourcing activities across all levels within the organization.
- Lead assigned projects, focusing on cross functional and/or large customer programs, coordinating the handoff across the global procurement team once standardized.
- Deliver best practices across the global procurement for development of sales opportunities, cost analysis, and execution of customer statements of work.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and manage vendor relationships.
- Monitor market trends to identify changes that could impact purchasing strategies.
- Provide market data and projections to aid in the budgeting process
- Prepare and process purchase orders, RFQs and requisitions in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies related to procurement.
- Provide backup coverage to support all areas of procurement.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field OR experience in lieu of a degree
- 4+ years of experience in the area of focus, or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- 4+ years of experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of upstream and downstream functions throughout a business.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong continuous improvement mindset, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to identify problems and provide sustainable solutions.
- Ability to adapt to a fast paced work environment.
- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Supply Chain.
- Ability to influence people from multiple countries, cultures, and other functions within the business
- Proven experience in supply chain management/sourcing
- Strong negotiation experience with demonstrated results
- Expertise to identify opportunities for improvement and lead efforts
- Ability to influence and implement change
