Why this role is awesome:At Vay, we’re rolling out a global mobility service that integrates advanced technology into certified vehicles and builds Remote Drive Stations worldwide. We source a variety of hardware components both developed in-house and from Tier 1 suppliers.
As a Procurement Specialist, you’ll be an essential part of our operations, keeping our sourcing and purchasing processes running like clockwork. You’ll manage key supplier communications, track orders, and ensure critical parts are where they need to be, when they need to be there. Working closely with procurement, logistics, and engineering teams, you'll be contributing directly to the success of a cutting-edge mobility service.
What you'll be driving:- Execute purchase orders for assigned commodity groups or components according to procurement plans.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers to track order status and resolve delivery issues.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment activities to avoid production disruptions.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and update supplier data.
- Support vendor evaluation and onboarding processes as needed.
- Assist with logistics coordination and customs documentation.
- Report on procurement KPIs such as delivery performance and cost tracking.
- Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- Some experience (1–3 years) in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations (internships or junior roles count).
- Detail-oriented with solid organisational skills.
- Basic negotiation and communication skills with suppliers.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with automotive systems or manufacturing supply chains is a bonus.
- Fluent in English, Mandarin and/or German is a strong plus.

What We Do
Vay's first commercial service is now live in Las Vegas, Nevada: By-minute rental cars. Delivered driverless.
Vay is the first company to drive a car without a person inside on public streets in Europe and the US, enabled by teledriving (e.g. remote driving) technology. Vay aims to launch a sustainable, affordable, door-to-door mobility service with remotely driven ("teledriven") cars: Teledrivers bring an electric car to the customer and pick it up after the journey is completed, eliminating the time-consuming search for a parking spot for the customer. While in the car, the customers drive themselves.
Vay sees teledriving as an alternative approach to autonomous driving and aims to gradually introduce autonomous functions in its system based on high-quality teledrive data.
Vay was founded in Berlin in 2018 by Thomas von der Ohe, Fabrizio Scelsi and Bogdan Djukic. Vay's team of 150+ people combines the best of two worlds - software & product experience from Silicon Valley and automotive hardware & safety engineering from Europe. The company has offices in Berlin and Hamburg, Germany, as well as in Las Vegas, USA. Vay raised a USD 95m Series B funding round.
