The Procurement Specialist will purchase solar inverter and wind turbine parts, high-voltage components, field contractors, and crane services for Leeward’s projects. The individual will handle the sourcing, the procurement, and the closing of the purchasing transaction. This position is available in Dallas TX and provides a perfect opportunity for an experienced renewable energy professional looking for high pace work within a small team, the ability to expand their experience, work with all levels of the organization, and contribute to the company's success. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Review and process purchase requisitions submitted by the company’s departments. 

  • Establish, vet, and maintain vendors including maintaining contractors’ safety records in ISN. 

  • Maintain vendor insurance certificate database and resolve policy discrepancies. 

  • Assist departments in product search, sourcing, obtaining price quotes and product availability. 

  • Manage RFP’s and contract bids, review terms and conditions. 

  • Negotiate pricing and delivery terms to reduce costs and meet operational and financial objectives.  

  • Liaison between vendors and legal counsel when executing service and supply agreements. 

  • Coordinate material deliveries and contractors to meet operational assignments.  

  • Enter purchase orders and proposals in database, submit purchase orders and service agreements to vendors.  

  • Review, research and investigate receiving and billing documents against approved Purchase Orders and resolve invoicing discrepancies and disputes accordingly with the appropriate internal contacts / department(s) 

  • Maintain and update internal purchasing documents on company share-drive. 

  • Process RMA’s - returns of goods to vendors. 

  • Assist with annual inventory counts.  

  • Maintain material and component database 

  • Facilitate shipping of goods inbound and outbound. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Associates or BS in a related field (BS preferred) 

  • 5+ years of experience  

  • Experience working in an energy industry is preferred 

  • Detail oriented with a demonstrated high level of organization 

  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency when faced with important procurement issues that impact the schedule and budgets of renewable projects.  

  • Demonstrate excellent intrapersonal and communication skills 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of purchase agreements and inherent contractual risks 

  • Able to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced business environment

Skills Required

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of procurement or related experience
  • Experience working in the energy or renewable energy industry
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
