Summary of Position:

Procurement Specialist is responsible to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality procurement while maintaining compliance with company requirements, controlling budget and maintaining vendor relationships. This position oversees and manages suppliers on every aspect of tooling, inventory, and quality of raw materials to ensure company specifications are met. Responsibility also includes managing projects, reporting/presenting and closely working with Customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure materials meet specifications and timelines
  • Maintain accurate records of projects and supplier communications
  • Monitor supplier performance with supplier audits, onboarding, and performance evaluations, resolving issues and concerns
  • Analyze industry and demand trends, material cost fluctuations, and potential supply chain risks and support management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
  • Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings
  • Analyze industry and demand trends and support management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
  • Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains positive
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
  • Coordination with suppliers making sure all project requirements are met on a timely basis.
  • Participate in supplier process audits
  • Support EO changes with internal cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Responsible for supplier packaging and supplier rack maintenance
  • Complete comprehensive report analyses.
  • Prepares inventory report of materials, parts and other assets bought by the company during the execution of the project.
  • Implement strategies in minimizing costs and improve efficiency; participate in VAVE projects
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams and maintain strong supplier relations
  • Prepare supplier and sourcing contingency plans

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or a similar field preferred, but not required

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience with material / vendor management experience required
  • Experience with seating manufacturing is a plus
  • Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus

Technical / Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • SAP experience is a plus 
  • Experience in project planning and operations
  • Understanding shipping and logistics
