The Procurement Operations & Transformation Lead is a senior Procurement Operations role responsible for designing, implementing and continuously improving operational capabilities within Procurement Solutions& Services (PSS) as part of our transformation agenda.
Using strong procurement and source-to-pay expertise, the role holder will redesign how procurement demand is received, assessed, routed and fulfilled across PSS. They will translate procurement processes, policies, business rules, controls and user needs into practical operating models and requirements for workflow, automation, data and AI solutions.
This is not a generic program management or PMO role. The successful candidate will bring practical knowledge of Procurement Operations and understand how sourcing, contracting, supplier onboarding, risk processes, purchasing, invoice processing and operational support interact across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle.
During design and implementation, the role will represent PSS within cross-functional business and technology teams. In the target state, the role will provide ongoing business ownership of the relevant operating model, including process performance, service quality, controls, adoption and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Help shape and implement the target operating model for Procurement Operations and Process Orchestration.
Lead the review, simplification and improvement of end-to-end procurement processes, with a focus on operational effectiveness, user experience and control.
Translate business needs, procurement expertise and user journeys into practical requirements for process, data, workflow, automation and AI-enabled solutions.
Work with operational teams and subject-matter experts to define clear process ownership, business rules, decision points, hand-offs and exception handling.
Represent Procurement Operations in cross-functional collaboration with Technology, Data, Risk, Control and Change teams.
Support the implementation and adoption of new or redesigned capabilities and their transition into sustainable business-as-usual operations.
Establish appropriate performance measures and use operational insights and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Provide business direction and constructive challenge to consulting, technology and implementation partners.
Skills
Relevant experience in Procurement, Procurement Operations, Source-to-Pay, Procure-to-Pay or a related operational environment.
Good understanding of end-to-end procurement processes and the interaction between business processes, users, controls, data and technology.
Experience improving processes, services or operating models within a complex organization.
Interest in and practical exposure to digital transformation, workflow, automation, data or AI-enabled solutions.
Ability to translate business needs into clear, practical requirements and operational solutions.
Strong Program Management skills and experience in working in global environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a pragmatic and delivery-focused approach.
Ability to work effectively across business and technology teams and influence a broad range of stakeholders.
Clear communication skills and the confidence to challenge constructively and drive decisions.
Experience with enterprise procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba, global shared services, procurement orchestration, intelligent workflow or regulated industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
